Robbie Fowler's move to Championship side Blackpool is now in doubt, according to manager Ian Holloway.
The 36-year-old, who trained with the Seasiders last week, was hoping to complete a loan deal until the end of the season.
"Yes, I'm trying to sign Robbie Fowler, but at the moment it won't be happening," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette. "Unless I can get things done and a deal done in a slightly different way, then he won't be coming.
"I'll be talking to him on Wednesday and see what we can do. If it doesn't happen, I'll be disappointed, but such is life."
The former Liverpool striker last played in England with Blackburn Rovers in 2008.
