Former Italian international goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani has exonerated Massimiliano Allegri for AC Milan's poor start to the season.
The Rossoneri have won just one of their opening four games in both Serie A and the Champions League, which has heaped the pressure on the manager's shoulders.
The Milan faithful are also unhappy at the summer sales of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to wealthy Paris Saint-Germain.
Marchegiani, who made 243 appearances over ten years for Lazio, believes that the Milan players must give more than what they have done so far this season and stop making excuses.
"Their players can and must do more than they have so far," said Marchegiani, in his role as a pundit for Sky Sport Italia.
"The team needs to be rebuilt in terms of its mentality and also in the way that it plays football.
"It is far too easy to talk about all of the players who have left the club over the summer. Who has remained must now offer something extra."
Marchegiani won nine caps for the Azzurri.
