Newcastle United defender Davide Santon will not be returning to Italy to play for AC Milan, according to reports.
It had been reported during January that AC Milan were monitoring the progress of Santon, while the Serie A club's assistant coach Mauro Tassotti revealed that he would like to see the 22-year-old return to Italy.
However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Milan have ended their interest in signing the full-back after refusing to meet Newcastle's valuation of the player.
Santon has made 59 appearances for Newcastle since he joined the club from Inter Milan in 2011.
