Arsenal boss Unai Emery concedes that club captain Laurent Koscielny could leave the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new season.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted that captain Laurent Koscielny could leave the club this summer.

The France international refused to travel on the club's pre-season tour of the United States amid suggestions that he wants to depart the Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

When discussing the captaincy situation at Arsenal, Emery admitted that Koscielny could depart this summer.

"I want one English player in these five captains. Last year [Granit] Xhaka, Mesut [Ozil] and Nacho [Monreal] were working as captains. But after Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech left - and possibly Laurent Koscielny - I will want more," Emery told reporters.

Koscielny's representatives will reportedly hold showdown talks with the Gunners this week in a bid to come to an agreement over a summer departure.

The 33-year-old, who recovered from a serious Achilles injury to feature on 29 occasions during the 2018-19 campaign, has been linked with a switch to Bordeaux.
