Folarin Balogun is reportedly set to leave Arsenal on loan in January as he struggles for game time in the first team under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal are reportedly planning to send Folarin Balogun out on loan during the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old penned a new deal with the club until 2025 earlier this year but continues to struggle for opportunities over the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Balogun played in both of Arsenal's opening defeats to Brentford and Chelsea this season but has not made a Premier League appearance since, instead being restricted to the Under-23s and seven minutes in the EFL Cup.

Now, The Athletic reports that Balogun is set to leave Arsenal on loan over the winter, and the England Under-21 international has attracted 'huge' interest from elsewhere.

However, the report adds that with Lacazette and Nketiah potentially leaving the club next month before their deals expire in the summer - as well as Aubameyang's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations - Balogun could yet be given more first-team opportunities in the New Year.

Balogun has scored 14 goals and assisted four more in 10 Premier League 2 appearances this season and scored his first goal for the England Under-21s against the Czech Republic last month.
