Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff scoffs at suggestions that Barcelona have to come to the 'end of an era' after their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has dismissed suggestions that the club are coming to 'the end of an era' after their Champions League exit to Bayern Munich in the semi-finals on Wednesday evening.

The La Liga leaders were hammered 7-0 over the two legs by the Bundesliga champions, leading to many suggesting that Barca's time as one of the most dominant teams in Europe is over.

"[The end of an era] doesn't exist, it's just a piece of nonsense someone said," Cruyff told AS.

"It's simply a matter of mistakes made by the club's directors. That happens."

Despite their humbling in the European competition, Tito Vilanova's side currently lead La Liga by eight points with a game in hand over second-placed Real Madrid.
