Barcelona defender Carles Puyol will reportedly undergo surgery to remove a cyst on his knee.
The centre-back will go under the knife today with the operation due to leave him out of action for three to four weeks, according to Football-Espana.net.
The procedure is the second time Puyol has had his right knee operated on this year, following the veteran's absence from March to May with a similar problem.
It is believed that Barca's club doctor Ricard Pruna will address the media later today to field questions about how the operation went.
The 35-year-old recently admitted that he was contemplating his future in the game after an injury-hit season.
