Preview: Bayern Munich vs. Roma

Sports Mole looks ahead to Wednesday's Champions League clash between Bayern Munich and Roma at the Allianz Arena.

Roma will be keen to avoid another thrashing by Bayern Munich when they make the trip to the Allianz Arena in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Italians were hammered 7-1 at the Stadio Olimpico two weeks ago as the Germans assumed firm control of Group E.

However, Roma remained in second place in the standings thanks to rivals Manchester City's 2-2 draw at CSKA Moscow last time out.

Meanwhile, Bayern can confirm themselves as group winners if they pick up a fourth consecutive victory in this season's competition.

The Germans are currently in rampant form, with an unbeaten start to the season putting them at the top of the Bundesliga standings after 10 matches.

Their confidence will have been boosted even further on the weekend as they came from behind to defeat rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the league thanks to goals from Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski.

Holger Badstuber, Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thiago Alcantara are all missing for Bayern, while Maicon, Marco Borriello and Kevin Strootman are all doubts for Roma.
