Team News: Eden Hazard captains Belgium against Spain

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard captains Belgium for their international friendly against Spain.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has been named as Belgium's captain for their international friendly against Spain this evening.

With regular skipper Vincent Kompany still sidelined through injury, Hazard has been given the armband by Roberto Martinez in his first match at the helm.

Hazard's Chelsea teammate Thibaut Courtois starts in goal, but Michy Batshuayi has to make do with a place on the bench as Liverpool's Divock Origi leads the line.

Premier League representatives Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Kevin De Bruyne also start, but Romelu Lukaku, who played for Martinez at Everton last season, only makes the bench.

Spain manager Julen Lopetegui is also overseeing his first match in charge, and he has selected Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata to lead the line in Brussels.

Manchester pair David Silva and David de Gea are the only two Premier League representatives as Lopetegui largely keeps faith with the team that suffered an early exit from Euro 2016 this summer.

Juan Mata, Diego Costa, Nolito and Cesar Azpilicueta have to settle for places on the bench, while West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian and Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez could be in line for debuts.

Belgium: Courtois; Meunier, Alderweireld, J Lukaku, Vertonghen; Nainggolan, Witsel, De Bruyne, Carrasco, Hazard; Origi
Subs: Mignolet, Sels, Dendoncker, R Lukaku, Mirallas, Mertens, Defour, T Hazard, Dembele, Benteke, Batshuayi

Spain: De Gea; Carvajal, Pique, Ramos, Alba; Busquets, Thiago, Koke, Vitolo, Silva; Morata
Subs: Adrian, Reina, Azpilicueta, Martinez, Roberto, Alcacer, Mata, Bartra, Asensio, Vazquez, Costa
