Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean admits that his side were disappointing during the first half of their 2-1 win over Barnsley at Ewood Park last night.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has admitted that his side were disappointing during the first half of their victory over Barnsley at Ewood Park last night.

Rovers fell behind to a Jacob Mellis goal, but Jordan Rhodes levelled on the stroke of half time before Nuno Gomes struck on 85 minutes to seal an unconvincing 2-1 win.

"I must be very honest. I thought we were dreadful in the first half," said Kean.

"We were well under the standards we set. We didn't pass the ball well enough in any areas of the pitch."

Blackburn are currently top of the Championship table with 14 points from six games.
