Michael Duberry believes that Gary Cahill has developed into a "world-class" centre-back.
The 28-year-old spent the early part of his career with Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers, but in January 2012 he completed a £7m move to Chelsea.
Since then, Cahill has become a key player for both club and country, which Duberry has insisted proves that he is one of the best defenders in the game.
"I've always been a big fan of Cahill - he's a brilliant defender. Since arriving at the club, he's just got better and better. As far as him and John Terry are concerned, I'd go as far as saying that they are the best defensive combination in Europe," former Chelsea player Duberry told Sports Mole.
"In an England team that is evolving, he's one of three world-class players alongside Wayne Rooney and Joe Hart. Them three are world class, with others in that squad having plenty of potential.
"You hardly see him get beat by his marker and he likes defending, which is very rare these days because it tends to be all about attacking."
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Cahill has won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup.
