Reise Allassani has said that it is "always nice" to score a goal after coming off the bench in Crystal Palace's win over Barnet in a pre-season friendly.
The 19-year-old development squad member was making his first appearance with the first team after spending time training with the senior squad last week.
After marking his appearance in the 5-3 win with a goal, the winger told the club's website: "It was great! I've been waiting to get a chance in the first team for a little while and I thought I did all right when I came on. It's always nice to get a goal.
"The quality is so much higher than in the Under-21s, they see things quicker and when they get the ball they're always looking out for you. It's been demanding. It's a much higher intensity, but it's been a good experience.
"I've been waiting for a chance and hopefully I took it, you always want to play in front of the first-team manager. I'd like to go on loan and get a lot of games next season, if I could push on here and get around the first team that would be good, but the main aim's to go out on loan."
Palace travel to South Africa for a pre-season tour later this month.
