Hannover have revealed that they are interested in signing former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.
The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer following the conclusion of his short-term deal at Levante.
General manager Dirk Dufner has admitted that the Malian international's out-of-contract status and reputation across Europe makes him an attractive proposition for the Bundesliga club.
"It's a fact, we are looking into the case of Mohamed Sissoko," Duffner told Bild. "Sissoko is a player of big quality, the clubs he has played for are a proof of that.
"Otherwise he would not have played for Valencia, Juventus or Liverpool. The circumstance he actually is a Bosman player is just making our interest more intense."
Sissoko, who played for Liverpool between 2005 and 2008, was in talks with Crystal Palace about a return to the Premier League in January before moving to Levante, where he made 10 appearances.
