Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has said that his home debut for the club was a bittersweet experience.
Allen impressed on his Anfield bow as Liverpool produced a much-improved performance to draw 2-2 with champions Manchester City.
He told Sky Sports News: "Personally for me it was fantastic to make my debut and it was a great occasion and atmosphere.
"We knew we would bounce back, we put that behind us and we will look to kick on from here.
"Bittersweet probably sums it up perfectly."
Brendan Rodgers's side twice led against City with goals from Martin Skrtel and Luis Suarez, but were pegged back on both occasions by strikes from Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez.
