Virgil van Dijk has admitted that he is hoping to earn legend status at Liverpool by helping the club to more silverware.
The 28-year-old has more than justified his £75m price tag since arriving at Anfield from Southampton in January 2017, becoming a fan favourite with his domineering defensive displays.
Van Dijk has already won three major honours during his time with the Reds and looks certain to lift the Premier League trophy should the English football season be given the green light to continue.
Real Madrid have recently been tipped to move for the Netherlands international, but he is only focused on writing his name in Liverpool folklore.
"We have a fantastic team, we don't lack anything, we have all the tools necessary to go on winning - a coach that we identify with, a versatile squad, a style of play that breeds victories, a stadium and supporters that play their part," he told Sport.
"I would like to be one of those players that return to Anfield after retiring. I see club legends at games and I feel part of a really big family."
