Midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri suggests that he will consider his future at Liverpool should he continue to be used as a bit-part player by Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has acknowledged that he has been left 'disappointed' with his game time during 2019.

After signing from Stoke City last summer, Shaqiri was initially used on a regular basis by manager Jurgen Klopp, still ending the season with six goals from 15 starts and 15 substitute appearances.

However, the Switzerland international rarely featured during the second half of the campaign, while he has only made one outing from the bench during Liverpool's opening three fixtures since the start of August.

That has seemingly led to the 27-year-old contemplating his long-term future at Anfield as he strives for first-team football ahead of Euro 2020.

The 27-year-old told Langenthaler Tagblatt: "I'm disappointed that I did not play any more. Nobody likes to sit on the bench.

"It's clear that I want more time. I have to look at the situation and find a solution."

Shaqiri still has four years remaining on his contract.
