Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could return to football action with Argentina on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old suffered a knee injury on the opening day of the Premier League season against Southampton and hasn't played since, with many at the club fearing he could be set for a lengthy absence.
Despite the injury, Aguero says he could play for his country next week and that he is happy to be a part of the squad.
"I'm here until the Peru game," said Aguero.
"The knee still hurts at the moment and it bothers me, but maybe in two or three days the landscape will change. Now I'm going to see the doctors of the Argentinian Football Association.
"It's always nice to be here with the guys. We knew from the Under-20s that this was a good group, and we must continue in this way."
These comments could land the former Atletico Madrid player in trouble with his employers after Roberto Mancini had previously labelled Aguero's inclusion in the national squad as "ridiculous".
