A number of Manchester United's senior players have lost confidence in head coach Louis van Gaal, according to a report.
The club's disappointing season hit a new low on Thursday when they lost 2-1 at Danish side FC Midtjylland in the first leg of their last-32 Europa League clash.
The Red Devils are also six points off the top four in the Premier League and elimination to Shrewsbury Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday could be the final straw for the club's board.
According to The Guardian, Van Gaal has already lost the confidence of the senior players at Man United, who want mooted replacement Jose Mourinho to take control sooner rather than later.
Earlier this afternoon, Mourinho played down suggestions that he could return to Inter Milan at the end of the season.
