Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that his side will take confidence into their Premier League opener against Leeds United following their 4-0 win over Everton on Saturday.
Mason Greenwood, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot were on the scoresheet as the Red Devils rounded off their pre-season with a four-goal success at Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions will now switch their attention to their 2021-22 Premier League opener against Leeds on August 14, and Solskjaer is well aware of the challenge that the Whites will present.
"There were some goals, that was a positive. We did okay fitness-wise but Leeds is a different kettle of fish with the way they play. Every team in the league poses a different challenge, so today was about intensity and going home tonight with four goals. That gives us confidence," the Man United manager told MUTV.
Neither Jadon Sancho nor Raphael Varane were involved in the clash with the Toffees, but both players are expected to link up with their new teammates at the start of next week.
Man United will follow the clash with Leeds with trips to Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers before the end of the month.
