Arsenal have reportedly scheduled a meeting with Ajax to discuss a potential transfer for Lisandro Martinez.
Despite extending his contract until 2025 last October, Martinez is expected to depart the Dutch champions this summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United in the hunt for the defender's signature.
United have allegedly made a £39.6m offer for the 24-year-old, with Erik ten Hag keen to reunite with his former player.
However, Arsenal remain interested in Martinez and according to The Athletic, the Gunners are set to meet with Ajax as they bid to fight off interest from their Premier League rivals.
Although William Saliba is included in Mikel Arteta's plans for next season, the North London club consider Martinez as their top defensive target.
Ajax are reportedly looking to receive €50m (£43.1m) for the central defender, who can also play as a left-back and a defensive midfielder.
The 24-year-old has made 120 appearances for the Dutch Club, helping his side lift two league titles.
