Manchester United defender Alex Telles emerges as a transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United defender Alex Telles, with the club looking for a replacement for Jordi Alba.

The Spain international remains an important figure for the Catalan giants, but he will be 33 early next year and has struggled with muscular problems during the 2021-22 campaign.

According to El Nacional, Barcelona are looking to sign a replacement for Alba in the near future and have identified Telles as the ideal acquisition.

The 29-year-old has largely been second choice behind Luke Shaw for the left-back spot at Man United since making the move from Porto in October 2020.

However, Telles has now started and finished his team's last four Premier League matches, with the Brazilian benefitting from Shaw's recent unavailability due to a head injury.

The South American, who has scored once and provided four assists in 32 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.
