Manchester United have reportedly taken a strong interest in young Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral.
It is believed that the 18-year-old, who is known to be highly regarded among the coaching staff at the Bernabeu, captured the attention of United scouts over the last few months.
While no official approach has been made by the Red Devils, the Daily Mail has claimed that manager Louis van Gaal could be prepared to sanction David de Gea's exit to Madrid if he were to receive Mayoral as a makeweight in the deal.
Although United are thought to be intent on make De Gea see out the remaining 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford, a report in Spain earlier today suggested that a deal was close to completion.
However, there was no mention of Mayoral, who was the top goalscorer at the recent European Under-19 Championships.
