Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez to be given low January budget?

Manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly informed that he will only be provided with a low transfer budget for the January window.

Newcastle United have reportedly decided to hand Rafael Benitez a low transfer budget for the January window.

Benitez was left frustrated over the summer, with Magpies owner Mike Ashley unwilling to sanction any high-profile moves for players, despite money being raised through sales.

Newcastle have recorded just two points from their opening eight Premier League matches, and it was expected that funds would be provided for Benitez to bring in a couple of his primary targets.

However, according to Chronicle Live, Benitez has been made aware that he will not be given much money to use at the midway point of the season.

The Spaniard is still expected to be active, but signing younger players with a resale value and looking to make loan additions from European clubs appears to be the priority.

Newcastle are unable to make loan signings from Premier League clubs due to having already brought in Kenedy and Salomon Rondon from Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion respectively.
