Moussa Sissoko: 'There were other clubs who wanted to sign me'

Moussa Sissoko reveals that he may have left Newcastle United in the summer had they not stopped him from negotiating with other clubs.

Moussa Sissoko has admitted that there were clubs looking to sign him this summer.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move away from Newcastle United in the transfer window, with speculation suggesting that the midfielder was unhappy at St James' Park.

Sissoko says that he may have left the club in the summer had not they not stopped a move from happening.

"It could have been a good time to leave," Sissoko is quoted as saying by the Chronicle Live.

"There were discussions with the club, who were against me leaving. There were clubs, but Newcastle vetoed."

Newcastle have collected two points from their opening four games.
