Porto coach Julen Lopetegui 'very disappointed' by Bayern Munich defeat

Porto boss Julen Lopetegui claims that a difficult 20-minute spell cost them the match in their defeat to Bayern Munich.

Porto coach Julen Lopetegui has admitted that he was "very disappointed" by his side's 6-1 mauling at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Portuguese outfit exited the competition at the quarter-final stage 7-4 on aggregate following their second-leg thrashing, and Lopetegui believes that a difficult 20-minute spell cost them the tie.

"We are very disappointed because we had a lot of expectations," he told reporters.

"But it just turned bad very early on and it became difficult for us to play our game against such a good team. We lost the game in those 20 minutes in the first half.

"We tried to change things in the second half and I think we improved a bit but it was too late."

The defeat marks Porto's first European loss this season, a run that spanned 11 matches.
