Preston North End have announced that Paul Gallagher has signed a two-year contract with the newly-promoted Championship side following a loan spell at Deepdale.
The 30-year-old joined Preston on a temporary deal from Leicester City last season, scoring 13 goals in 59 appearances in all competitions to help the side win the League One playoffs.
The Scot told the club's website: "Wanting to stay here is something that I expressed even when I came the first time on loan. To come back and bounce back from the disappointment the previous season against Rotherham, I always said I wanted to come back and help this club get promotion to just myself, as a team and as a football club.
"We managed to achieve that, some people come and say things and don't achieve them but we managed to put the words into action and get there. It feels like I've never been away but I'm happy to be back and looking forward to what will hopefully be another good season."
Gallagher previously had a loan spell with Preston during the 2007-08 season while at Blackburn Rovers.
