Scotland midfielder Shaun Maloney has admitted that his goal in their Euro 2016 Group D qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, which finished 1-0 to the home side at Celtic Park, had previously not worked in training.
From a short corner, the 31-year-old passed the ball to the feet of Scott Brown, whose back-heel allowed the winger to curl the winner home.
Maloney told BBC Sport: "It's a special moment for myself and the team. Just very fortunate that we were on the right end of the result.
"We had a day when we worked on set pieces and we tried it a few times and it didn't quite end up how it did [on the night]."
The result puts Scotland third in Group D with seven points from four matches.
