Tom Huddlestone confirms that he will miss the rest of the season for Tottenham Hotspur with an ankle injury.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he continues to overcome an ankle injury.

The Premier League club confirmed today that the 25-year-old will undergo surgery for the second time this season in order to solve an ankle injury.

The playmaker has not pulled on a Spurs shirt since August last year and will play no part in the North London side's fight for the league trophy.

Huddlestone wrote on Twitter: "My season is over [before] its even started, operation friday!! Main objective is to make sure I'm 100% for pre season."

There were rumours last month linking Huddlestone with a transfer away from the club but no deals came to pass in the winter window.
