England boss Gareth Southgate has revealed that he has been left impressed by the recent performances of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks.
The 21-year-old has been handed eight starts by Mauricio Pochettino, with his latest coming in Spurs' 3-1 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Winks made his England debut against Lithuania last month, and Southgate has suggested that the youngster has a bright future in his Three Lions setup.
The 47-year-old told reporters: "He looks to play forward when he can, he has a good range of passing, is able to receive and change the direction of play, but it has been his composure which has really stood out.
"The squad generally has got lots of players and it's nice that while the spotlight is on one player one week there are lots of good stories coming through."
Winks is expected to start in at least one of England's friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
