Sunderland have announced the signing of former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old had been without a club since leaving Galatasaray at the end of last season, but has spent the past few weeks training with the Black Cats.
Manager Sam Allardyce has now decided to sign the former Ivory Coast international on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign.
Eboue spent six years in the Premier League with Arsenal earlier in his career, making 214 appearances for the Gunners and helping them to the Champions League final in 2006.
He moved to Galatasaray in 2011 and won three Super Lig titles with the club before falling out of favour in his final season. His last competitive game came 672 days ago.
He will now hope to help Sunderland stay in the Premier League this season, with one point separating the Black Cats from the relegation zone.
