Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has turned down the opportunity to take charge of the Northern Ireland national team on a part-time basis, according to Sky Sports News.
The Irish Football Association are believed to have approached the 38-year-old about the possibility of him succeeding Nigel Worthington, and would have even allowed him to continue his duties with the Swans.
However, Rodgers is said to feel that his job with Swansea requires his permanent attention.
Rodgers has previously revealed that he would be keen to manage his country at some stage in his career.
