Watford have won the race to sign Werder Bremen defender Sebastian Prodl on a five-year deal.
The 27-year-old was reportedly wanted by a number of Premier League sides, but the recently-promoted Hornets managed to fend off any interest from elsewhere.
Prodl, who spent seven years at Bremen before announcing his departure last month, has appeared in both the Champions League and Europa League in the past, as well as representing Austria 49 times.
Watford are expected to bring in Quique Flores as their new head coach in the coming days, after talks with current boss Slavisa Jokanovic broke down.
