West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke insists that Jonas Olsson is not for sale in the January transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has insisted that his defender Jonas Olsson is not for sale in the transfer window.

Premier League rivals Arsenal have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old, along with clubs in Turkey.

The Baggies gave the Sweden international a new four-year deal last summer to ensure he stayed at the club, though that has not stopped the speculation.

"We can hang on to every single player. We don't have to sell anybody," said Clarke.

"Speculation is natural, because people make up stories to generate the interest. I know they make them up.

"But it's not unsettling for me in anyway, because I know that, come February 1, the players that I need to be here will still be here."

Olsson himself has insisted that he is happy at West Brom and focusing on success this season.

"It's flattering with the interest but I am focusing on West Bromwich Albion and the current season." Olsson told Expressen.

"I am happy at the club and, as I have said before, it should be something attractive if I should leave West Brom."

Olsson moved to The Hawthorns for £800,000 from NEC Nijmegen in 2008.
