West Ham United have completed the signing of Malian striker Modibo Maiga from Sochaux.
The 24-year-old reportedly came close to joining Newcastle United in January, but concerns over his long-term fitness scuppered the move.
The explosive forward has signed a four-year deal with the Hammers after completing a medical in London on Wednesday.
He told the club's official website: "I am really happy and excited about joining West Ham United. I know West Ham are a big club in England I'm really looking forward to representing them.
"They have a huge tradition and it is like joining part of a family and that is one of the main reasons I wanted to come here."
Maiga scored nine league goals for the French outfit last season.
