Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain seeks Arsenal response

Arsenal ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hopes that the Gunners can forget about the 5-1 loss to Liverpool and focus on beating Manchester United next week.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has called on his Arsenal teammates to respond to Saturday's 5-1 defeat to Liverpool by beating Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

The Gunners were left stunned at Anfield as the Reds struck four times in the opening 20 minutes en route to a comfortable win over Arsene Wenger's men.

"We are very disappointed, especially with the first half," he told the club's official website.

"We know we are better than that. So in that sense we are gutted, but these things happen in football and it is our responsibility to turn that around and we have great opportunity on Wednesday night."

Wednesday's encounter in London is scheduled to kick off at 7.45pm.
