Arsenal have reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to snatch Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy from under the noses of London rivals Chelsea.
Remy was left out the R's squad to face Sunderland on Saturday, with manager Harry Redknapp confirming that a deal to take him to the Blues was close.
However, The Telegraph claims that the Gunners have also triggered the £10.5m buy-out clause in the player's contract.
Despite Arsenal's late move for the player, sources at Stamford Bridge are said to remain confident of concluding a deal for the French international, claiming that Remy would choose to snub the Gunners.
Chelsea are also thought to be comfortable with the striker's physical health, despite the former Newcastle United loanee failing a medical at Liverpool earlier in the summer.
