Aston Villa have reportedly put a £40m price tag on defender Tyrone Mings ahead of the summer transfer window.
Mings has established himself as a key player for Dean Smith's side so far this season, making 26 appearances across all competitions since his £20m arrival from Bournemouth last summer.
The 27-year-old's form saw him earn a maiden England call-up last year, and a number of clubs are thought to be considering a move for him should Villa suffer relegation from the Premier League.
However, the Daily Star reports that Villa want to double their money on the centre-back and will demand a fee of £40m before considering selling, regardless of whether they stay in the top flight or not.
The Midlands outfit currently sit 19th in the Premier League table and are two points from safety, albeit with a game in hand over the teams around them.
