Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is expecting to be rewarded with a new contract at the club after helping them ensure Premier League survival this season.
The Belgian international has scored 19 goals for the Villans since moving to Villa Park from Genk for £7m in the summer.
His form has resulted in him being linked with a number of top European clubs this summer, but his agent is hoping to sit down with Villa over the next few days to discuss improved terms.
"Now that Villa's future is secure I hope we can have discussions by the end of this week. If not, then next week," said agent Eric Kismet.
"We did the transfer deal last summer with Aston Villa with a lot of respect. We hope that discussions on a new contract will be done in the same way.
"Villa have said they want to speak for several weeks, but it has been difficult because of the situation in the Premier League. Now they are safe the situation will change."
Villa travel to Wigan Athletic for their final game of the season on Sunday.
