Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew has confirmed that he is closing in on a new contract with the Scottish champions.
The left-back's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, which had sparked speculation that he was to leave Parkhead.
However, the 30-year-old has revealed that he is now in advanced negotiations over fresh terms.
"We're discussing things at the moment and I'm optimistic. I've always said I'm happy here and things are definitely getting closer," he told reporters.
Mulgrew joined the Bhoys on a free transfer from Aberdeen in 2010.
