Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that the club have made an offer for Schalke 04 striker Teemu Pukki.
Lennon is eyeing a replacement for Gary Hooper, who has moved to Norwich City, but he has admitted that he may have to wait until after the Champions League qualifiers before he has any success with the deal.
The 42-year-old told reporters: "Teemu is a player that we like. I was out watching him on Wednesday and we are trying to bring him in. It's not easy at this stage of the window.
"With a lot of clubs in a Champions League position, similar to us, they won't want to let players go but we are very determined to bring players in and we are working hard in the background to do that.
"Our bid has not been accepted, but negotiations are hopefully ongoing. We will go again."
The Finnish international has scored eight goals in 36 Bundesliga games for Schalke.
