Sylvain Distin has said that there are no problems at Everton despite the club winning only two of their last 11 league games.
The Toffees have been touted as contenders for a Champions League berth, but a string of draws has seen their bid falter in recent weeks.
A 1-1 draw at Stoke City on Saturday means that David Moyes's men now sit sixth in the table.
However, they are within striking distance of third-placed Chelsea, and Distin reassured fans that there is no reason to panic.
"If you want to make a big deal of it then yes, we should win at places like Stoke [last weekend]," Distin told the Liverpool Echo. "But if you want to be realists you look at it; we faced good opposition and how much did we spend during the summer? I think less than £10m.
"The teams above us spent big money, maybe £30m. I don't know where the problem is. People say they're not happy if we're not in the top four, as if we should always be there. That's not the case.
"We've lost only two games and we've played some big teams so far. Personally I don't see a problem."
Everton travel to Upton Park to face West Ham United tomorrow.
