Germany coach Joachim Low has claimed that his players are lacking "physical freshness" following Tuesday's 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland.
The world champions saw their hopes of qualifying for Euro 2016 suffer a setback in Gelsenkirchen as a late goal helped Ireland earn a share of the spoils.
Despite Germany having chances to close out the match, Low believes that the fitness of his team played a significant role in their downfall.
"The physical freshness is not there, but we also need to organise better at the back," he told RTL. "We lacked a bit of width and depth and it was relatively easy for Ireland to defend as it was too tight. It was better in the second half, but we didn't reward ourselves by scoring a second goal."
Germany continue their qualifying campaign on November 14 when they entertain Gibraltar.
