Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town have signed goalkeeper Jed Steer on a month-long loan from Aston Villa.
The Terriers have been after a new keeper since Alex Smithies left to join Queens Park Rangers, and 22-year-old Steer has signed an initial 28-day deal.
"It's no secret that we need another goalkeeper added to the squad and Jed has been on our radar for a while," Huddersfield boss Chris Powell told the club website.
"If anything happens, like it has, I'm glad the club can act quickly and bring somebody of his calibre in. He will go straight into the squad for the upcoming games."
Steer, who made his Premier League debut on the final day of last season, has been given the No.1 jersey and could make his Huddersfield debut at Cardiff City tomorrow, with the Terriers still searching for their first league win of the season.
