Jose Enrique: 'Daniel Sturridge can be one of world's best'

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes that his teammate Daniel Sturridge has everything it takes to become one of the best strikers in the world.

Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique has claimed that Daniel Sturridge has all of the attributes to become one of the best strikers in the world.

Sturridge was named as the Premier League player of the month for August, having fired the Reds to three consecutive 1-0 victories in their opening three league matches of the season.

The 24-year-old has scored 16 goals in 20 appearances since joining Liverpool in January, leading Enrique to believe that he will be the league's top scorer this season and will go on to become one of the world's best strikers.

"I tell Daniel all of the time that if he wants, he can become one of the best strikers in the world. He is one of the most complete players I've ever played with. He has everything for a striker," Enrique told reporters.

"He's quick, amazing when it's one against one, very very fast, not bad in the air and is clinical with both feet. I think he will be the top scorer in the league this season. But if we are to be successful, it can't be about one or two players.

"Kolo Toure said this week that to be a top team you don't just need top players. You all have to be together. Other clubs have spent more money than us, but we are all together and that's why we have started the season so well."

Sturridge is expected to play against Swansea City on Monday having recovered from a thigh strain that kept him out of England's recent World Cup qualifiers.
