Manuel Pellegrini has praised Vincent Kompany for the way that he has bounced back from last season's personal disappointment.
The Manchester City skipper was well off his best for large parts of the 2014-15 campaign, but has kicked off this term with a string of impressive displays.
As well as scoring twice for the Citizens, Kompany has helped his side keep five clean sheets in succession on their way to a perfect start this time around.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday evening's Champions League meeting with Juventus, Pellegrini told reporters: "Kompany knows that his performance last year was not what he must do, because he is the captain of the team. The reaction [he] had is important."
It has now been nine hours and 26 minutes since City last conceded a top-flight goal.
