Manchester City have reportedly submitted a bid to sign Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt this summer.
The 18-year-old has established himself as a regular in the Amsterdam club's first team over the past two seasons and has also become the youngest captain in Dutch football history.
De Ligt, one of Ajax's most highly rated youngsters, is believed to be on the radar of several top European clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercato, however, Man City have gone further and lodged a bid worth an estimated €60m (£52.7m) for the Netherlands international.
De Ligt made 39 appearances in all competition for Ajax last season and has also won seven caps for Die Oranje.
