Manchester United 'order scouts to search for lower league talents'

Manchester United reportedly order their scouts to search for more young talents playing in English football's lower tiers following the success of Daniel James.

Manchester United have reportedly ordered their scouts to start searching for more young talents playing in English football's lower tiers.

The club spent around £130m on bringing Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in from Premier League rivals over the summer, while Daniel James arrived from Swansea City for just £15m.

The Mirror reports that James's impact on the first team has led to a profound response from the club's management, who have decided that finding talents from the lower divisions and developing them in-house is the way to go.

As such, the club have asked their scouts to cast their nets wider when looking for new talent, with several Championship players now thought to be on their radar, including Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Reading striker Danny Loader.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown a preference for bringing in the club's youth prospects since taking over as manager, with Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong all given several first team opportunities this season.
