Franz Beckenbauer: 'Mats Hummels is at best age to move to England'

Franz Beckenbauer believes that 26-year-old Manchester United target Mats Hummels is at the "best age" to leave Borussia Dortmund and move to England.

German football legend Franz Beckenbauer has claimed that Mats Hummels is at the "best age" to move to England.

The 26-year-old has been widely linked with a summer move to Manchester United, who are reportedly keen to strengthen their defence.

It is believed that the Borussia Dortmund star, who has played in the Bundesliga all his life, will be included in United's £105m raid of talent.

"At 26, Hummels is at the best age to make the move to England," Beckenbauer told Bild. "I can understand his thinking well."

Last week, Hummels denied that he has already agreed to join the Red Devils in the summer.
