Manchester United will reportedly have to hold off competition from Borussia Dortmund if they wish to sign Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils continue to be linked with a move for the Croatian, and it has been claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are closing in on a £4.6m deal for the 2018 World Cup finalist.
However, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Dortmund have entered the race for the 33-year-old, with the German giants looking for another option in the final third of the field.
Mandzukic has plenty of experience in the Bundesliga having turned out for both Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich in Germany's top flight, scoring 53 times in 110 appearances in the competition.
The experienced forward, who has also been linked with a potential switch to Qatar, has not played a single minute of first-team football for Juve this season after falling out of favour since Maurizio Sarri's arrival.
