Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren has insisted that his side need to pick up their first win of the Premier League campaign against Watford to bounce back from their defeat to West Ham United.
The Magpies have taken just two points from their opening five matches of the season and they succumbed to their third defeat of the campaign against the Hammers at Upton Park on Monday.
However, McClaren is adamant that his side have to get off the mark when the Hornets travel to St James' Park.
He told the club's official website: "The atmosphere has been unbelievable in the first two home games and we need it to continue on Saturday. We're in a transition period so we need that support to help us get that result and push on.
"We're still learning about each other and it's a learning process but you need results and we need a reaction against Watford.
"We knew it would be a tough start. It's going to take time to settle but on Saturday we have the opportunity to move on and get a win on the board."
Newcastle are bottom of the Premier League ahead of their clash against Watford later today.
